KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND OUTCOMES

  • Drive market penetration of the assigned territory
  • Achieve individual and market case/financial margin targets by executing division strategies and delivering a Rich Experience through well-refined local market plans.
  • Develop annual account plans for the market’s Top Accounts with the Segment Leader, setting sales goals using sales objectives, profit expectations, and placements of priority product categories.
  • Effective and strong administrative execution with managing Broker relationships and Broker accountabilities for each retailer where brokers are included in our go-to-market strategy.
  • Consistent and thorough utilize system tools (e.g., Salesforce, Sales Discovery System, and Blacksmith) consistently and thoroughly.
  • Aggressively drive retailer pull-through of new product priorities.
  • Achieve volume and margin plans by market: base solidification and growth, strategic category, and
  • Build and coordinate the execution of individual account plans and quarterly governance structures, including Category/Segment/ Retailer-specific targeting to tactically capture category share in each market.
  • Develop and implement a data driven selling approach utilizing Rich’s best-in-class Data and Insights
  • Establish effective relationships with key Distributor contacts in the segment, where applicable.
  • Responsible for customer forecasting, pricing and acting as the key liaison between the customer order process and WHQ (World Headquarters) support teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both Technical Counselors and peers.
  • Ability to interact with customers via virtual platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, Facetime, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Business, Finance, Economics, or Marketing preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven success in sales experience within the in-store bakery or grocery retail industry; direct selling experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated sales successes utilizing negotiation skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills (both in person and virtually) with all levels within an organization
  • Strong financial acumen, including familiarity of P&Ls (Profit and Loss Statements)
  • Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting
  • Exceptionally self-disciplined and organized
  • Demonstrated solid influential skills
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS. Nielsen, IRI and Salesforce strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., product samples cases, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for 6 or more hours during the workday (e.g., trade shows, product demonstrations, etc.)
  • Ability to travel 50-75% within the assigned region

Responsibilities

The Key Account Manager will play a pivotal role in the execution of the In-store bakery division’s strategic plan priorities and AOP (Annual Operating Plan) objectives within their assigned geography. This position involves coordinating closely with the sales team to drive growth in the assigned market targets.
This professional will primarily cover the central and northern California region but will also cover parts of the pacific northwest region as needed.
