The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. The Key Account Manager position is responsible for managing all aspects of the On-Premise Key Account business in the assigned territory, with the goal of growing target accounts and identifying new opportunities, with the intention of developing the business for Duckhorn Portfolio. They are proficient in all mechanics of The Duckhorn Portfolio, including, but not limited to, wine knowledge, channel strategies, allocations, company logistics, computer systems, winemaking, vineyard practices, and hospitality philosophy. Position Location: West Coast What we will ask you to do: * Develops and maintains strong relationships at the corporate level * Prepares sales strategies designed to grow our business in each assigned account * Prepares annual sales forecasts for each assigned account * Monitors and manages program compliance * Identifies new regional and/or emerging chain opportunities applicable for Duckhorn Portfolio and secure meetings for introductory presentations. * Works closely with Senior Director on account strategies to optimize PODs. * Works with TDP sales team to drive execution at the local level * Works with key wholesaler national accounts & regional teams to identify and secure sales opportunities * Works closely with Trade Marketing, Brand and Sales Analytics to create programs & presentations that drive sales in assigned accounts What you will need: * Must have experience working in the on-premise channel either as a supplier or wholesaler * Must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university * Minimum 4 years’ experience in wine related field * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. * Ability to be in the market 80% of the time, defined as time out of the home office, visiting accounts and hosting events. * Must be a team-oriented person, willing to work closely and transparently with others * Must be willing to travel as needed to perform the job at the highest level * Must possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state car registration, insurance, and a clean driving record.
