Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with training and developing enthusiastic associates who are passionate about supporting SNDL’s mission
  • Assist in all supervisory duties; where necessary, fill in as Acting Manager in the absence of the Assistant Manager and provide feedback about new opportunities
  • Acts as a role model and assists in the training and development of new Store Associates; facilitate a welcoming and positive atmosphere for everyone in the store
  • Promote a strong sales and customer service culture
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge; staying up-to-date with industry legislation, trends and new products
  • Greet customers upon entrance; engage in conversation and build a relationship to understand specific needs
  • Promote our culture and brand by participating in merchandising and promotional activities
  • Educate customers about cannabis products, strains and consumption methods
  • Participate in routine store maintenance and ensure cleanliness is a priority
  • Complete customer transactions on the POS system and adhere to all cash and Loss Prevention procedures
  • Monitor inventory and re-stock product regularly
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S policies and procedures
  • Operate the store within the guidelines of AGLC Cannabis rules and regulations
  • Support and promote SNDL’s and AGLC’s social responsibility programs

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience in retail and/or hospitality, preferably cannabis, liquor and/or healthcare.
  • High School Diploma
  • Current SellSafe Certification
  • AGLC (Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission) approval to become a QCW (Qualified Cannabis Worker) and able to work at a Cannabis Store
  • Must pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Must pass a basic security clearance
  • Working knowledge of regulations as it pertains to the selling of Cannabis in Alberta Personal Characteristics and Requirements
  • Team player who is passionate about supporting the overall success of the business
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to deliver positive customer experiences and build loyalty
  • Ability to think on your feet, quickly adapt to changing priorities and creatively problem solve

• Uphold ethics, confidentiality, and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
