Responsibilities

Culcheth High School are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated individual with a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential. We require a mentor, with an enthusiastic and positive disposition, to work with targeted students, to raise aspirations and support the acceleration of their academic progress. This is 37 hours a week, term time only fixed term contract covering maternity starting in November 2025 until October 2026.
This term time only role involves a range of academic support duties including: data tracking; parent/carer liaison; coordination of mentoring support and intervention activities; preparation of documentation and attendance at Looked after Children and Care Planning meetings; set up arrangements for external provision. The position will also involve working 1:1 with children with potentially challenging behaviour.
The ideal candidate will have a motivational approach, with effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Experience of working with pupil premium students or vulnerable groups within an educational setting is essential.
