Responsibilities

We are looking for Key Workers to deliver interventions to NDIS participants (specifically children aged 0-8) and their families that lead to positive, life-changing outcomes.
Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments is essential, as this is the most highly requested time for Key Workers to provide therapy to their participants.

As a Key Worker at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

  • Working in the social model means you’ll work and deliver therapy in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, and community centres
  • Attended a family’s home to conduct their initial appointment, utilizing your assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child and goals
  • Worked collaboratively with a kinder teacher at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
  • Coached parents through finding a school that best suits their young child’s needs
  • Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
  • Built meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
  • Documented, and billed for, each session through our online participant management system
  • Provided support for a 5-year-old after school so that they can establish consistent routines
  • Attended the weekly team meeting in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
  • You’ll have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support
  • Dropped into an online mentoring session to build knowledge of using Assistive Technology with a participant and some tips to introduce some behavioral support strategies
