Job Title: Kitchen Commis – Japanese Cuisine
Location: Dubai Mall
Reports to: Head Chef / Sous Chef
Job Summary:
As a Kitchen Commis in our Japanese restaurant, you will assist in the preparation of authentic Japanese dishes, ensuring high standards of hygiene, quality, and presentation. You will work closely with the culinary team to support daily kitchen operations and maintain an efficient, clean, and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs with the preparation of ingredients.
  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and store vegetables, fish, and meats according to recipe requirements.
  • Prepare sauces, condiments, garnishes, and basic stocks under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment.
  • Ensure all food items are stored and handled according to food safety standards.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Follow portion control and presentation guidelines to meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
  • Support senior chefs during busy service periods.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a Japanese or Asian cuisine kitchen is an advantage.
  • Basic knife skills and willingness to learn Japanese culinary techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From AED3,000.00 per month
