Department: Kickstarting for Good, ProVeg Incubator
Location: Ideally Berlin or Germany remote (optionally EU-wide)
Hours: 20 - 40 per week

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have completed professional training or a university degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related research-oriented field.
  • You have 3–5 years of professional experience in research and data analysis.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German and other languages are a plus).
  • You are creative and able to develop and present innovative ideas convincingly.
  • You have strong project planning, management, and analytical skills.
  • You are highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
  • You have a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • You are flexible and take a hands-on approach to work.
  • You strongly align with our mission and vision.

Nice to have:

  • You have strong knowledge or experience in animal advocacy and the Effective Altruism space.
  • Experience with Notion, Lucid, and G-Suite is advantageous.

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

To strengthen our diverse activities, we are looking for a Research Manager (all genders) to support and oversee research efforts for Kickstarting for Good. In this role, you will manage a wide range of research-related projects and tasks, bringing your analytical skills, strategic thinking, and passion for food system transformation to the team.

At Kickstarting for Good, you will conduct in-depth market research, analyze trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies. With your expertise, you will contribute to the success of our programs, strengthen our research capacity, and help shape a more sustainable food system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities for new initiatives, programs, and nonprofit ventures.
  • Data Analysis: Perform quantitative and qualitative research into the food system transformation space, analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends and advocacy opportunities.
  • Idea Development: Translate research findings into concrete ideas and areas for launching impactful initiatives through the Kickstarting for Good program.
  • Reporting: Consolidate research findings into structured reports, presentations, and action plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in research-related outreach to funders, mentors, and partners, and contribute to discussions on platforms such as HIVE, EA Forum, and FAST Forum.
  • Surveys & Interviews: Conduct surveys and interviews with key stakeholders (funders, mentors, founders) to identify gaps and opportunities in the movement.
  • Strategic Planning: Design and implement an effective approach to developing and validating new ideas for the program.
  • Program Evaluation: Assess feedback from previous years, extract key learnings, and recommend improvements for future iterations of Kickstarting for Good.
  • Participant Support: Help Kickstarting for Good participants and graduates validate their ideas by measuring impact and conducting targeted market research.
