Job Title: KidStrong Coach Center: Corpus Christ, TX Reports To: Head Coach FLSA Status: Non Exempt Travel: None Compensation: Hourly KidStrong Coaches are the best of the best and lead the way in bringing our science based curriculum to KidStrong Families through high caliber and engaging coaching. Coaches help parents discover their child’s superpowers and teach kids to believe in themselves. Coaches develop kids who will win at life by following our milestone accelerator curriculum, living the KidStrong and KidStrong Coach DNA, and committing to contributing quality work both to our Families and the greater KidStrong Team. RESPONSIBILITIES: COACHING Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Character, Physical, and Cognitive development up to 24 hours a week. Achieve Coach Certification through the HQ Training and Certification team. Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum and be able to clearly and concisely communicate it. Coach classes for students with age groups ranging from walking to 11 years-old. Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class. Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational. and professional demeanor when leading class. Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements. Use the KS Coaches App to record data and provide data (attendance, awards, etc.). Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers. Coaches must have availability of a minimum of 6 hours per week. Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum. Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight. Must be comfortable physically working with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety. Assisting parents of students, ages 3 and younger, with the direction and flow of a class. Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required by the Lead Coach and/or HQ Training and Certification team. Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the Lead Coach. Learn and manage KidStrong Camps held by centers when local schools are not operating (example: Winter Break, Summer Break) SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Passion for working with children is non-negotiable Athletic or coaching background; ideally with experience coaching kids ages walking to 11 Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding variety of topics Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required Positive, motivating public speaking and strong interpersonal communication skills Commitment to schedule Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics CPR certified Self-starter who just gets the job done Enjoy the spotlight, excel in coaching, and mentoring Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will be mentoring so communication and interpersonal skills are important. Sphere of Interaction Coaches will work closely with center leadership, families, and members of the HQ team.
