JOB DESCRIPTION:

The KIDZ Club Support Worker works with the staff team to supervise, support, and care for one to three children who are differently abled from kindergarten to grade 5.

• Follow recommendations and strategies in children’s care plans to support their participation and success in program, which could include physical transfers, help with toileting, etc.
• Support child within a small group of children to support social skills and integration
• Help to set up activities at the beginning of the day and make sure that strategies are in place to accommodate the child’s needs
• Use a variety of techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing
• Improve social skills and problem-solving abilities through discussions and cooperative activities
• Help children manage their stress level and emotions when they are dysregulated
• Make notes and document successes, issues and needs

REQUIREMENTS

Staff must provide:

• A clear criminal record check
• Immunization record/or letter of conscientious objection
• Three references

QUALIFICATIONS

• previous experience working with school aged children
• Experience and training relating to children with disabilities or children who are neurodiverse an asset
