Description The Kiln Fireman will communicate with other employees in the Burning Department, Setting Department and Packaging Department. The Fireman will have the ability to use the computer to enter quality data, make changes to process, generate reports and monitors process variables. They will also obtain strong knowledge of drying and firing equipment and operations. Requirements Maintain safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and/or property damage. Use proper safety equipment and procedures. Ability to learn other jobs and fill in when needed. Ability to operate and reset transfer cars and haulages. Ability to keep track of car positions. Ability to use hand tools to perform minor repairs and make adjustments. Ability to communicate with supervision about production, quality and safety issues. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly. Hardhat, safety glasses and steel toe shoes etc. required. Work Schedule 6:45 pm – 7:00 am 2/2/3 schedule, must work every other weekend
Responsibilities
The Kiln Fireman monitors process variables and enters quality data using computer systems to manage drying and firing operations. They coordinate with the Burning, Setting, and Packaging departments to ensure production efficiency.
