Description
Description Must work in a safe manner. Obey safety signs and warnings Ability to learn the full operation of the burning department and DLA Monitor kilns and make adjustments as needed. Conduct daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor as needed. Learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars. Ability to fill in for other department employees when needed. Basic computer skills. Prepare and submit daily reports. Perform daily brick quality tests. Perform other duties as outlined by management. Must be able to obtain forklift license. Work Schedule 2/3 Schedule 5:30 pm – 5:30 am Requirements Ability to lift 20 lbs. constantly and be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to twist, stoop, bend and crawl. Ability to climb ladders, steps and be comfortable with heights. Hardhat and steel toe shoes required.
Responsibilities
The Kiln Fireman is responsible for monitoring kilns, making necessary adjustments, and conducting daily equipment checks. Additional duties include performing quality tests on bricks and preparing daily reports.
