Description
Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a variety of tasks in the production of metal oxide varistor (MOV) disks to be used in production of the Power Reliability Division's arrestor product lines. Specifically, this position has responsibility over the thermal treatment of MOV disks in the production process and will train/rotate in to other MOV jobs. Incumbants must maintain standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met. This position is responsible for critical equipment that runs 24/7 and must work weekends and holidays (per schedule below). Individuals will be responsible to find coverage for scheduled work days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday: 10PM - 6AM Thursday/Friday - Off Safety: Responsible for following all safety policies and procedures, complying with JSA's, wearing proper PPE, complying with the production attire policy, and assuring that the work cell has safe equipment and no risk is placed on their coworkers or themselves. Any safety issue identified should be reported immediately to supervisor or manager. General cleaning of shop areas and personal 5S/industrial housekeeping responsibility. Works under limited supervision to set up and operate assigned equipment (including but not limited to Kilns, material handling system, presses, metalizer and weigh batch). Responsible for troubleshooting, resolving most issues and difficulties, and periodic quality, product and equipment checks (including but not limited to: thermocouples, heating elements, furniture, and equipment settings). Performs equipment changeovers when changing disk types. Performs preventative maintenance on kilns and other equipment. Performs assigned miscellaneous duties within the scope of operations, which may not be specifically listed above. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing environmnt No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Associates Degree Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a a ceramic processing plant Computer Skills Ability to use and interpret monitory devices such as timers, recorders, minometers, gauges, and electrical equipment. Ability to multiply and divide to the decimal level.Able to make calculations and work from formulas and specifications" Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly & concisely.
