KINDERGARTEN TEACHER (1.0 FTE)

Location: Montessori School of Calgary, Calgary, AB
Montessori School of Calgary (MSofC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Kindergarten Teacher to join our vibrant team. This full-time position involves co-teaching in a multi-aged Montessori classroom (3–6 year old children) . We are looking for a collaborative educator who brings warmth, professionalism, and an appreciation for the Montessori philosophy.
Founded in 1983, MSofC is a not-for-profit independent school offering authentic Montessori education to children aged 3 to 12. Our program blends Montessori pedagogy with Alberta Education curricula. Our vibrant school community is located in the historic Cliff Bungalow School in downtown Calgary, providing a unique and inspiring setting for learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid Alberta Education Teaching Certificate/Licence
· Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or other recognized Montessori training an asset but not required
· Minimum 1-3 years teaching experience
· Deep understanding of child development theories
· Strong planning, observation, and assessment skills
· Effective classroom management and a calm, respectful presence
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented mindset
· Current police information check with vulnerable sector screening
· Standard Childcare First Aid and CPR/AED Level B an asset

Responsibilities

· Co-teach within a Montessori multi-age classroom serving children ages 3–6 yrs old
· With the support of a Montessori Guide, prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori classroom aligned with developmental needs of the children
· Deliver thoughtful, child-centered lessons across all areas of the AB Education curriculum as outlined in the Kindergarten Program Statement
· Observe, assess, and support each child’s individual growth and learning trajectory
· Foster respectful, trusting relationships with children and families
· Collaborate actively with teaching team members and support staff
· Participate actively in school events and professional learning
