Description

Atlanta Legal Aid Society (“Legal Aid”) seeks a full-time Client Navigator for its Kinship Care Project. The Kinship Care Project assists relative and nonrelative caregivers in stabilizing the legal relationship between the caregiver and the child through guardianship, custody and adoption proceedings, and in maximizing the resources available to the household. The Kinship Care Project is located in Downtown Atlanta, and the staff currently consists of a Managing Attorney, three Staff Attorneys, a Screening Attorney, and two Paralegals.

Due to the professional responsibilities of licensed attorneys in Georgia, we are unable to employ mandated reporters. The Client Navigator will assess the non-legal needs of a client and serve as a crucial link between clients and the services they need, offering personalized guidance to provide them with a plan to improve their situation. This job will provide a unique blend of challenges and rewards. Some of the responsibilities and duties include advocating on behalf of clients and their families to obtain resources and services, whether SNAP benefits, TANF, Medicaid or other benefits. Additionally, the Client Navigator often assists clients who are in crisis mode, and need intervention services.
