Description:
MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Two (2) years’ experience and specific knowledge in maintenance either through trade/vocational school or verifiable on the job experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
- Ability to read and write English is required.
- Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience required for hood and duct cleaning.
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
- Possess a valid driver’s license, passport from their country, and have ability to obtain a work visa.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Inspect, test, clean, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on kitchen hood fire suppression systems and ducts and attach service tags IAW NFPA 96 and UFC 3-601-02. Install, service, and repair stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools, test equipment. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, test, clean, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on kitchen hood fire suppression systems and ducts and attach service tags IAW NFPA 96 and UFC 3-601-02.
- Submit a report of all hood and duct exhaust system tests, inspections, and maintenance accomplished.
- Coordinate all hood and duct cleaning work with the COR, Fire Department (quarterly only), and respective Facility Manager at least 72 hours prior to cleaning
- Install, service and repair stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools, test equipment and following wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers and defective wiring, repairs and adjusts appliance motors, reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys and lubricates moving parts.
