This is a 3 month fixed term contract At tombola, creating a welcoming and enjoyable workplace experience is important to us — and our Kitchen team plays a big part in that. Whether preparing coffee, serving food, keeping spaces organised, or helping maintain stock levels, this role is all about teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same, and where new ideas and ways of improving the experience are always encouraged. What you’ll do Prepare and serve freshly brewed barista-style coffee and hot drinks. Support food preparation and lunchtime service. Replenish food, snacks, condiments, and supplies across café and kitchen areas. Carry out general maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines and front-of-house areas. Help maintain clean, organised, and welcoming kitchen and café spaces. Support stock management and stock rotation activities. Provide friendly support and guidance to colleagues and visitors, including allergen information where required. Follow food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH procedures at all times. Contribute ideas and suggestions to help improve the catering experience and ways of working. Skills & experience Essential Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Good time management and ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information appropriately. Comfortable working in a physically active role, including standing for extended periods and carrying out cleaning and replenishment tasks. Basic literacy skills, including understanding task lists, safety instructions, and chemical labelling. Awareness of workplace health & safety practices, including COSHH guidance. Desirable Previous experience working within a commercial kitchen, café, or catering environment. Experience using barista-style coffee machines. Basic IT skills, including online ordering and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams. Up-to-date Food Hygiene certification. Behaviours & competencies Friendly and approachable.
