Dronfield is a purpose-built home providing care for up to 41 residents. Dronfield is a lovely old market town, situated close to the Pennines, just three miles from the Peak District National Park.
Our staff here at Dronfield strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents. We also have a CQC rating of ‘Good’.
We are searching for a Kitchen Assistant to work 8 hour shifts as and when is needed. The Kitchen Assistant must be available Monday-Sunday, including Bank Holidays and Christmas. The successful candidate will have the relevant Food & Hygiene qualifications for this position and proof of certificate is required.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in organizing and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
  • Participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
  • Attend mandatory training courses as and when required.
  • Wash up after meals. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area (and, where appropriate, the dining area) is carried out effectively.
  • Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Nurse in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the Homes Health and Safety Policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • Report to the Home Manager, or Nurse in Charge, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
  • Promote safe working practice in the Home.
  • Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home.
  • Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
  • Notify the Home Manager, or Nurse in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
  • Ensure the security of the Home is maintained at all times.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
