Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will help prepare and serve a variety of menu items, including pizzas, hot dogs, nachos, and burgers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and assembly of pizzas, hot dogs, nachos, and burgers, following standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
  • Cooking and Assembly: Help with cooking and assembling menu items, ensuring that food is cooked to the correct specifications and served at the right temperature.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food served meets the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Stock Management: Monitor ingredient levels and notify the kitchen supervisor when supplies are running low. Assist with receiving deliveries and storing stock efficiently.
  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including prepping stations, cooking surfaces, and kitchen equipment. Adhere to strict hygiene and health and safety standards.
  • Weekly Kitchen Deep Clean: Participate in a weekly team responsibility of deep cleaning the entire kitchen area, including all equipment, surfaces, and storage areas, ensuring the kitchen meets high cleanliness standards.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Follow food safety guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Assisting Kitchen Staff: Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to support the smooth running of kitchen operations. Assist in any other tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
  • Customer Service: Occasionally assist in serving food to customers when necessary and ensure customer satisfaction by providing accurate and timely orders.
  • Prep and Close Down: Assist with opening and closing procedures, including prepping ingredients for the next shift and ensuring the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of the day.
