No formal qualifications are required, although experience in a catering or kitchen environment (especially in a care or healthcare setting) is an advantage. We’re looking for someone who is:

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll work closely with our Head Cook and wider team to ensure meals are prepared, served, and delivered in a timely, hygienic, and person-centred way. Your work will make a real difference to the daily lives of our residents, many of whom look forward to mealtimes as a highlight of their day.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and drinks
  • Supporting the Cook with basic food preparation tasks
  • Washing up and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Ensuring food is stored, handled, and served safely in line with food hygiene standards
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces, following infection prevention and COSHH guidelines
  • Assisting with the safe delivery of meals to residents when required
