Lazy Daisy’s Cafe is hiring a part-time kitchen assistant!

This is an entry-level job great for someone looking to gain experience in a very busy, fast-paced kitchen. Lazy Daisy’s Cafe is a very popular cafe and full-service restaurant located in the East End of Toronto known for its breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and hearty brunch menu.

Duties include:

  • Assisting kitchen staff with line-cook tasks, including, but not limited to cooking bacon, eggs, chicken, etc.
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen, including, but not limited to taking out garbage, recycling, scrubbing and sanitizing surfaces
  • Packing 3rd party delivery orders (Uber, Skip the Dishes, Ritual, DoorDash)
  • Helping with dishwashing when needed

Qualifications:

  • Be available to work Thursday-Sunday for 2-3 shifts/week between the hours of 7AM-5PM - The average Kitchen assistant shift is generally 6 hours, between 9:30-3:30, but may need to stay later if busy, or be scheduled earlier if we need help with food prep.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced kitchen, multitask, and be adaptable
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback from leadership
  • Must have your Food Handler’s certification by your first week of starting.

Wage: $17.20/hr with a wage and performance review at 3 months
