Purpose of the Role
To support the smooth and efficient running of the truckstop restaurant kitchen by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas are safe and hygienic. This role is essential in helping the kitchen team deliver quality food service to our customers, including professional drivers, travellers, and locals.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, work surfaces, and equipment.
· Wash, dry, and store crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans.
· Assist chefs with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling, chopping, portioning) and cooking when required
· Ensure kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly.
· Remove waste and recycling safely and in line with procedures.
· Receive, check, and store deliveries, rotating stock to minimise waste.
· Report any equipment faults or health & safety hazards to the supervisor.
· Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
· Comply with all food hygiene, health & safety, and company policies.
