Dorrington House is looking to recruit a dedicated and conscientious Kitchen assistant to join our friendly team on a part time or full time basis!

• One of your key responsibilities will be supporting the Cook to prepare meals from the daily menu. You will get to know our residents so will respond to any special dietary requirements or preferences, promoting choice, dignity and respect.
• You will help the Cook manage the kitchen supplies; you will also be responsible for checking kitchen equipment, log any defects and report to the manager.
• Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus that reflect choice and preference.
• You will complete all necessary paperwork such as COSHH, HACPP, SFBB, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Occasionally, you will help cater for ad hoc special events. These may include 100th birthday celebrations, summer BBQ’s and Christmas parties.
• Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies.
• You will need to cover the cook duties in case of absence/annual leave.

  The post requires working every other weekend.
  The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen.
