Responsibilities
  • Washing utensils, pots, pans, and chopping boards
  • Sanitising the food preparation areas
  • Preparing ingredients, including washing and chopping
  • Sweeping, mopping, and emptying rubbish bins
  • Organising food supplies and ingredients
  • Assisting the chef and taking directions
  • Knowledge of HACCP
    · Maintain a neat and tidy work environment at all times; ensure cleanliness of all areas where food is stored, prepared and served.
    · Wear appropriate protective clothing as per HACCP regulations.
    · Be willing to complete other job related tasks at request from time to time.
    · Keep all cleaning equipment clean and descale appliances regularly were necessary.
    · Dispose of all waste appropriately, i.e. grease, cardboard, glass, etc.
    · Recognize tasks to be done and complete them professionally and thoroughly.
    · Use the proper equipment and supplies for the job.
    · Read and understand all chemicals used in the kitchen and wear suitable protective clothing were necessary.
    · Handle all appliances and equipment with care to avoid unnecessary breakage and waste.
    · Notify maintenance department of any issues or problems with facilities.
    · Notify supervisor of faulty equipment.
    · Monitor stock levels of all equipment and supplies.
    · Be mindful of supply use and avoid waste.
    · Keep cleaning checklists and reports up to date as per manager’s request.
    · Ensure the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of all residents.
    · Carry out all work whilst ensuring resident safety.
    · Practice proper infection control techniques.
    · Other duties which may be required from time to time.
    · Be willing to participate in all job related training.
