Description

About this job

hesena – a good feeling

hesena is shaping St. Josef into a home for people with mental health challenges. Together, we're developing the facility – and we want you to be part of it. We're creating a work environment where you can grow and rely on us. Are you looking for a job that fits your life and offers a break from the daily grind? Then get to know us now!

Start your career with a positive feeling in full-time or part-time employment at the St. Josef residence hall in Bad Pyrmont as

Kitchen assistant (m/f/d) – no weekend shifts

Working hours are only from Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

We have exciting tasks for you

You will take on responsibility as a kitchen assistant (m/f/d). You will be cooking for up to 68 people at the hesena St. Josef residence. Your job here is different from what you might expect – or be familiar with – because your team consists of our residents, whom you will guide and support.

You motivate, inspire, and empower your team, guiding them through the processes in your well-equipped kitchen and playing a vital role in their reintegration. You involve your exceptional kitchen team in planning, ordering, storage, hygiene, and other aspects of the kitchen, for which you bear primary responsibility. You implement the HACCP concept and keep a close eye on the bottom line.

You make us happy when you

  • ...you have training or relevant experience as a cook, assistant cook, kitchen helper or similar
  • ...alternatively, you have previously pursued a completely different path, for example as a care assistant or support worker, or have a special knack for cooking with the necessary passion, and you are confident that you can cater for 68 people daily in a large-scale kitchen, including preparing meals in advance for the weekend (of course with prior training at a nearby hesena location)
  • Ideally, you have already been able to assist with or take on main responsibility for orders, inventory planning, etc., or you are particularly eager to learn.
  • ...open to people with mental illnesses
  • ...cooking together with our residents and supporting them in doing so
  • ...an empathetic and patient team player with a calm and composed manner
  • ...you have a passion for healthy, delicious food and can inspire others with it
  • ...you possess organizational talent

What you can rely on

  • A secure job with on-time payment
  • Flexible, family-friendly working time models in full-time or part-time exclusively from Monday to Friday – without weekend shifts and no work in the evening or at night, so that you can combine work, family and all other personal circumstances.
  • Attractive, fair compensation and bonuses
  • Appreciation and respectful teamwork, creating a home for people.
  • Accompanying training in the processes of hesena, especially in the kitchen area
  • Further training and specialized education that will help you advance
  • Bonuses for bringing new colleagues onto the team
  • Other benefits include free drinks, shared employee breakfasts or other employee meals, employer-supported retirement savings, shopping benefits with discounts, and much more.
  • Parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity, for example in our employee parking lot.
