Kitchen Assistant - The Ship Hotel
The Ship Hotel, an exciting brand new dining destination launching in the vibrant heart of Leigh-On-Sea, is seeking enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to join our friendly team. Working alongside our skilled chefs, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining our excellent standards and helping create memorable dining experiences for our guests. Due to health and safety requirements in a professional kitchen environment, all applicants must be 18 or over.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Maintain exceptional kitchen cleanliness through efficient dishwashing
• Support our chefs with food preparation tasks, including preparing fresh seafood
• Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory management
• Uphold strict food hygiene standards
• Keep the kitchen and storage areas organised and clean
• Empty bins and maintain waste areas properly

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be aged 18 or over due to commercial kitchen health and safety regulation
• No prior experience needed - full training provided
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced pub kitchen
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25kg (with appropriate training)
• Evening and weekend availability essential

EXPERIENCE:

• Kitchen Porter: Not required
• Hospitality: Not required
• Previous commis chef experience advantageous but not essential
