Title: Kitchen Steward
Reports to: Commis Chef / CDP / Sous Chef
Summary of Position: To ensure the back of the house remains clean and well maintained. Responsible for dish washing duties including all relevant kitchen wares and equipment. To complete all the tasks defined by Sous Chefs and CDP’s. To handle cleaning of all crockery and cutlery, collecting stores and food to restock the cupboards and fridges along with the disposal of rubbish. To lead the inventory and maintenance of all operations related service ware including cutlery, crockery etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Keep the kitchen and store areas clean and tidy
Washing up, cleaning and clearing all kitchen areas
Emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors
Use of cleaning products in a safe manner
To follow cleaning procedures including use of equipment
Ensure the hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and food counters achieve total customer satisfaction and meet company standards
Follow all Health and Safety requirements for the Kitchen including food storage, manual handling
Disposing of any waste following the guidelines given
Unloading and putting away deliveries in absence of Storekeeper
Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly
Deep cleaning fridges and store rooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards
Ensure all utensils, crockery and cutlery is clean and stored correctly
Restock the cupboards and fridges when the stock arrive
Supports the Chefs with the running of the Kitchen Well organized with good time management skills
Maintain a good working relationship with other colleagues in all areas of the lounge Able to work individually and as part of a team
Any other request within the scope of the position
The days and times of work will be on rota basis over 7 days
Qualifications / Essential Skills:
Basic written and spoken English required
Ability to lift/carry/push items of up to medium weight
Previous experience in a Kitchen is an advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.58 per hour
