JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic and caring team at Cherry Holt Care Home. Working various shifts for 15 hours per week on a rota basis Monday-Sunday. You must be committed and passionate and knowledgeable in the standards expected within this framework.
Purpose of the role
- Assist and execute various kitchen duties such as ensuring cleaning schedules are adhered to.
- Assist in preparation and serving of all meals, in a timely manner.
- Liaise with care staff and Service Users in a polite and person-centred way.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Head Cook, assist in identifying items to be ordered to ensure enough levels of supplies for catering operation from specified suppliers, using Knights Care procedures.
- Operate an efficient stock control system.
- Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults.
- Be clean, hygienic and well presented at all times.
- Any incidents or accidents to be reported to the Head Cook and appropriately recorded and actioned.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
