La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside. Purpose-built and modern, our home provides specialist dementia and nursing care for up to 76 residents.
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly culinary team. You will help prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals while keeping our kitchen clean, safe, and well-organised. Whether you have previous kitchen experience or are looking for your first role in catering, we will provide all the training and support you need.

Responsibilities

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Mealtimes are an important part of daily life for our residents. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help create a welcoming dining experience by supporting with meal preparation, maintaining a spotless kitchen, and working as part of a close-knit team. Your role will directly contribute to our residents’ health, comfort, and enjoyment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this role, you will help prepare and serve meals to a high standard, ensuring dietary needs are met and presentation is always appealing. You will keep the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas clean, tidy, and hygienic, following food safety guidelines at all times. You will help receive and store deliveries, making sure ingredients are handled and stored correctly. Working alongside the Chef and other team members, you will follow safe working practices, support colleagues when needed, and help create a positive, professional kitchen environment.
