Job Title: Kitchen Assistant Manager
Department: Back of House
Reporting To: Kitchen Manager
Job Summary: The Assistant Kitchen Manager supports the Kitchen Manager in the daily operation of the kitchen, helping ensure quality, consistency, and smooth service. This role works closely with kitchen staff to maintain food safety standards, assist with inventory, oversee preparation and presentation, and provide training support. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Kitchen Operations and Staffing:
  • Assist with planning and preparation of menu items, ensuring recipes are followed accurately.
  • Support line cooking, prep work, and plating as required during service.
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness and food safety compliance, addressing issues promptly.
  • Help track inventory levels, rotate stock, and assist in placing orders when needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff to ensure consistent performance.
  • Quality and Standards:
  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations
  • Ensures food-safe practices are being followed at all times; food is covered, dated, neatly stored, and used before expiration
  • Follows all recipe specs and ensures junior staff is following them as well
  • Performs daily inspections of the kitchen and its parameters, ensuring cleanliness and quality standards are being met
  • Ensure all products used are of a high standard, produce all dishes to a high standard upon presentation of the recipe, including dishes served at the correct portion size, quality, and temperature
  • Event and Catering Support:
  • Assist with kitchen preparation for events, catering orders, and private functions.
  • Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Food & Beverage team to ensure the successful execution of event menus.
  • Assist in off-site catering and onsite private events
  • Additional Duties:
  • Step into other kitchen roles during peak periods or staff shortages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food & Beverage leadership
