Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

To give support assistance to the Kitchen Supervisor / Catering Manager in the provision of a nutritious and valued choice of diet for residents, and where applicable - staff and visitors. To work as part of the Kitchen Staff team

  • Assist in the preparation of food for Residents
  • Adhering strictly to hygiene standards and health & safety requirements
  • Assist in the presentation and serving of food to Residents
  • Deliver up to date resident special diet requirements as required
  • Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness in the kitchen is maintained at all times,
  • Use of commercial kitchen equipment provided in a manner to ensure safe practice
  • Stock & prepare Unit Servery kitchens with appropriate foodstuff’s and utensils
  • Inform Kitchen management of low stock on occurrence
  • When appropriate, develop cooking skills under supervision with Kitchen management
  • Show professional courtesy at all times on interaction with Residents, Staff and Visitors
  • Other duties as necessary directed by the Kitchen Supervisor / Catering Manager
  • Shifts will include: Weekdays, Weekends & Holiday periods as required

Training: Full training will be provided to applicants with Limited or no experience in the Catering Industry.
