We are hiring multiple Kitchen Assistants; at multiple Toowoomba locations: (Russell Street, Xpress & Wyalla)

REQUIREMENTS

To ensure your success in this role you will have:

• 15- 20 hours per week OR
• 25-30+ hours per week
• Experience in kitchen preparation, knife skills desired
• Experience in a fast paced hospitality environment
• Strong passion for food and commitment to the success of Merlo Coffee
• Love for routine and structure in your day
• A fun, hardworking and energetic attitude towards work
• Food safety and hygiene knowledge
• Fast hands and ability to work autonomously

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Food preparation/ serving: perform food preparation of cabinet items eg. wraps, panini’s focaccia’s, sandwiches, fresh salads, frittata, muffins and catering platters as well as serve a la carte made-to-order meals
• Grill, fryer and stovetop
• Product knowledge: advise customers and staff on gluten free, dairy free and other dietary specifications in addition to in-store specials
• Kitchen organisation: manage the work flow and meet preparation targets, complete food safety checklists and other OH&S procedures, order stock and food items for the store.
• Customer service: ensuring Merlo’s customer-focused service is upheld at all times.
