  We’re on the lookout for a warm and outgoing Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Norley Hall Care Home.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and undertake all duties as applicable to the highest standard.
You will assist in the preparation of meals and liaise with Care staff and residents in a polite person-centred manner whilst maintaining your skills and undertaking such training and development as required.

ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• To support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and the delivery of consistent, high-quality, delicious and nutritious dishes to our residents
• Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals the service supports
• Possess knowledge of Health and Safety food regulations, IDDSI framework and coach the rest of the kitchen team
• To undertake all Assistant duties including cleaning, washing up and putting materials away as per the Head Chef’s requests
• To ensure food items are stored correctly and in rotation to minimise wastage using all company labelling and dating processes
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order, reporting any faults immediately.
• Ensure all equipment supplied is used with care and in accordance with supplier instructions and training received
• Support the delivery and serving of food where required
• Have a good understanding and knowledge of individual resident dietary requirements, sharing any concerns to the Head Chef
• Be clean, hygienic and well-presented at all times
