Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours Per Week: 18.00
Contract Type: Temporary (02/09/2025 – 30/09/2025)
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 10:30 – 13:30
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Norwich (NR13) on a short-term temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with previous catering or kitchen experience who is reliable, organised and able to work to high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
You will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team with day-to-day duties, ensuring meals are prepared and served efficiently in a safe, hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with food preparation and serving meals
  • Ensuring kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, tidy and hygienic
  • Washing up, cleaning surfaces, equipment and utensils
  • Following food safety standards and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting senior kitchen staff with daily duties and additional tasks as required
  • Restocking and ensuring supplies are organised
  • Working as part of a team to deliver a smooth meal service

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment is preferred
  • DBS Check and references required
  • Must bring appropriate workwear:
  • Plain black/navy polo or T-shirt
  • Black/navy trousers
  • Enclosed, leather or leather-look, non-slip sole shoes
  • Strict hygiene standards:
  • Short, clean nails (no nail varnish)
  • No jewellery
  • No perfume or aftershave
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A driver’s licence is highly desirable due to limited/no public transport in the area
