JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join our chef team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations, the focus will be around the dishwash area ensuring both front and back of house dishes are kept clean and tidy in a timely manner and also supporting the cleanliness of the kitchen in general.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is preferred.
  • A background in culinary arts or catering can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for food preparation and cooking, with a willingness to develop culinary skills further.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
  • Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is clean and in its proper place.
  • Cleaning the dishes and pots in a timely manner and up to standard
  • Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes.
  • Participate in catering events as required, contributing to meal preparation and service.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
