We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth operation within our culinary environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering excellent service to guests.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and management.
  • Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills further within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Support chefs during service by ensuring all necessary ingredients and tools are readily available.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items promptly and efficiently.
  • Dispose of waste correctly and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen.
  • Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
