We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team, ensuring our commitment to health and safety standards while preparing sandwiches, wraps, and finger food platters for our lunch delivery service..
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and finger food platters according to standardized recipes and guidelines.
- Quality Control: Maintain high food quality standards by ensuring that ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Safety and Hygiene: Follow established health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen area. This includes cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Stock Management: Keep track of inventory and notify the Kitchen Manager when supplies are running low. Assist with food and ingredient orders as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the kitchen. Be prepared to assist with various tasks as needed.
- Organisation: Organize food items and ensure proper labelling and storage. Help with portion control to minimize food wastage.
- Customer Service: Occasionally, engage with delivery staff and provide support to ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing menu items and customer preferences.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.
