The Knolls Care Centre have a vacancy for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our Kitchen team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in delivering high-quality care alongside the catering manager and kitchen team through maintaining quality food and hygiene standards.
Shift hours: 08:00am-18:30pm (10.5 hours)
Shift Days: 3 days a week (31.5 hours a week) - Roster pattern (Week 1 and Week 2) to be confirmed. May include an alternative weekend or split weekend.
Hourly Rate is £12.21 and the weekend rate is £12.82

DUTIES

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and tidy.
• Assist in washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean working environment — even after a busy lunch rush
• Assist with the morning breakfast service for residents, making tea/coffee, toast, cereal and serving to residents.
• Preparation of teatime sandwiches
• Prepping tea or meal trolleys in accordance with the meal and tea schedule
• Sweep and mop floors and take out the rubbish regularly
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and ensuring all food is correctly labelled
• Supporting stock rotation and ensuring ingredients are properly stored
