REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passion for Nigerian and/or Caribbean cuisine, with a strong desire to learn traditional cooking methods.
  • 6 months experience in the UK
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is essential
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in food preparation and cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility with work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Kitchen Assistant will support our chefs in preparing and serving our flavorful dishes, ensuring that our kitchen is clean, organized, and efficient. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for cooking, a love for Nigerian and Caribbean cuisine, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seasoning ingredients.
  • Support the chef with cooking tasks, as needed, including preparing sauces, marinades, and spices commonly used in Nigerian and Caribbean dishes.
  • Help plate and garnish dishes for a consistent and visually appealing presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and ensuring a tidy workspace.
  • Assist with inventory and stock management, including receiving and storing supplies.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and maintain kitchen hygiene in line with food safety regulations.
