JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our Nursery Chef. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing snack, washing up, preparing tea for the children and other tasks. This position is perfect for individuals who can work from 9.30 until 2.30pm from Monday to Friday, all year round.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• A willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and meal preparation.
• Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
  Pay: £12.21-£12.75 per hour
  Expected hours: 25 per week

• Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
• Support the Nursery chef with cooking tasks, following instructions to ensure high-quality dishes are produced.
• Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Help checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
