OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and a desire to learn within a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our chef and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in catering, meal preparation, and food safety. You would be working 5 days a week (9-5) to include some weekends as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen.
  • A passion for cooking and culinary arts, with a willingness to develop skills further.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Support chefs during meal preparation and cooking processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.
  • Collecting used crockery from floors as required.
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Help with serving meals during busy periods, ensuring timely service to guests.
  • Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive and efficient working environment.
