We are looking for a cook for our Artane Service.
Shift starting at 2:00pm Monday to Friday.
15 - 20 hours per week.
Must have HACCP Training, Allergen awareness and previous kitchen experience.
We prepare a healthy snack for all children in our care for our afternoon service. This is a solo position, the person hired will handle all duties independently. Candidates must have good communication skills as we are cooking for children.
Job Purpose
1. To implement the HACCAP guidelines.
2. To provide nutritionally balanced meals for the children attending this service.
3. To cater for any dietary requirements children may have.
4. To be meticulous in your approach to hygiene and safety in the kitchen. Kitchen to be left clean and sterilised before and after cooking.
5. Wear suitable clothing in the kitchen ie. hairnet, closed top shoes.
6. Ensure all your records are filled in as appropriate.
7. Prepare stock order weekly and to be aware of stock levels in the kitchen. inform management when you are running low on supplies if necessary.
8. Engage with staff & Children regarding the menu, likes, dislikes, portion sizes

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Ordering shopping and checking ingredients for the following week.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
  • Cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
  • Assisting the Programme Assistants with baking activities by monitoring the baking process in the oven.
  • Washing all dishes after meal and insure kitchen area clean and organised.
