Baker Floors is a fast-paced, growing business that is your “one stop shop” for flooring, tile, paint, lighting, countertops, cabinetry, and more. We are looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Designer to join our team and help keep operations running smoothly.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Cabinet Designer will be responsible for developing detailed cabinetry designs that combine functionality, aesthetics, and precision. This role involves working directly with clients and internal teams to create shop drawings, 3D renderings, and technical specifications, while ensuring projects are accurate, practical, and aligned with client expectations. The ideal candidate will bring both creativity and technical expertise, with a strong understanding of cabinetry construction and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in cabinet design, millwork, or woodworking industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, 20/20, Chief Architect, or similar).
  • Strong technical drawing and visualization skills.
  • Knowledge of cabinetry construction methods, hardware, and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project managers to develop cabinet designs that meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Create detailed shop drawings, 3D renderings, and layouts using a design software.
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware based on project specifications and client preferences.
  • Ensure all designs comply with building codes, safety standards, and company quality guidelines.
  • Work closely with production and installation teams to ensure designs are feasible, accurate, and efficiently executed.
  • Revise and update drawings based on client feedback and project adjustments.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure timelines are met.
