Job Description
As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. Your efforts will help our chefs create memorable meals by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and well-stocked at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a kitchen hand or in hotel service roles is preferred but not essential
  • A friendly and professional attitude with a passion for hospitality
  • A team player who can adapt to a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 7 day roster with shifts that may start as early as 6am or finish late at night
  • Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
  • NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a current and valid work visa/permit. (immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with basic food preparation as directed by the kitchen team.
  • Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment promptly.
  • Keeping all kitchen surfaces and work areas clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Removing waste and recycling regularly, ensuring disposal areas remain organised.
  • Assisting with the receipt, storage and rotation of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Following all health, safety and food handling procedures at all times.
  • Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with general tasks to maintain workflow during busy service periods.
  • Helping set up and pack down kitchen areas as required.

    This is a part-time position, working across a 7-day roster, waged at $25.42 per hour.
