Job Description As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. Your efforts will help our chefs create memorable meals by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and well-stocked at all times. Your role includes the following tasks: Assisting with basic food preparation as directed by the kitchen team. Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment promptly. Keeping all kitchen surfaces and work areas clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene standards. Removing waste and recycling regularly, ensuring disposal areas remain organised. Assisting with the receipt, storage and rotation of food and kitchen supplies. Following all health, safety and food handling procedures at all times. Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with general tasks to maintain workflow during busy service periods. Helping set up and pack down kitchen areas as required. This is a part-time position, working across a 7-day roster, waged at $25.42 per hour. Qualifications Previous experience as a kitchen hand or in hotel service roles is preferred but not essential A friendly and professional attitude with a passion for hospitality A team player who can adapt to a fast paced and dynamic environment Strong communication and time management skills Flexibility to work a rotating 7 day roster with shifts that may start as early as 6am or finish late at night Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a current and valid work visa/permit.
