About the role Based at our Boorai Child and Family Centre (Ocean Grove), you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with current food safety legislation and nutritional guidelines. You will also maintain the kitchen environment and equipment in a safe and hygienic manner at all times. Work type: Permanent Part-Time (3 hrs per day, Monday - Friday) Key responsibilities include: * Assist with the preparation and serving of meals appropriate to a variety of age groups. * Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations * Maintain communication with Centre staff and parents in relation to the individual dietary requirements of children. About you To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of preschool children’s nutritional requirements and food safety, and the ability to assist in the preparation of age-appropriate meals for a large number of children. Essential: * A current Working with Children Check * Ability to identify Health and Safety issues in the work environment. * Ability to assist in the preparation of nutritionally balanced and age-appropriate meals for a large number of young children incorporating meals for children with specific dietary requirements. * Completion of a recognised food handler’s course would be an advantage.
