We have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate kitchen team as a Kitchen Hand and food preparation on a casual basis to support our kitchen during busy times. The cafe is a key experience in our iconic tourism destination located on 15 acres of landscaped grounds and orchards, 10 minutes from Torquay on the spectacular Surf Coast.
PLEASE NOTE: We are located in Bellbrae, over one hour from Melbourne CBD and not accessible by public transport.

YOUR ROLE

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience of at least 1 year working in a hands-on role and under pressure in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant kitchen. We are looking for a candidate to perform both kitchen hand / dishwashing duties as well as perform food preparation.
You will need an eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional customer service. You will be well organised.
This is a casual position including weekends and public holidays and may lead to a permanent position. Opportunity to complete Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery may also be available to progress to Chef roles in the future.

TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key tasks and responsibilities are:

• Assist in producing nutritious, high quality, well prepared, well presented, and enjoyable food for our customers.
• Perform dishwashing duties as required.
• Ensuring operation of kitchen equipment follows occupational health and safety standards.
• Adhere to all food handling and cleaning practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage, and disposal.
• Control and record all wastage.

Pay: $31.19 per hour
