SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role, we will be looking at the following experience and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role where you have prepared meals for 3rd party clients, ideally within a commercial setting.
  • Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen and either developed or provided input into the development of menus’ and working with multiple dietary requirements.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation in response to food preparation, food handling and storage.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities whilst working unsupervised.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

All ARRCS employees are required to have the following mandatory checks. These are not required at time of job application, however, must be lodged and or received prior to commencement with the organisation.

  • Hold or have lodged a National Police Check within the last 3 months .
  • Current Influenza Vaccination.
  • Current (in date) NT Working with Children Card.
  • Current or ability to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

ARRCS are actively sourcing an experienced Kitchen Hand to join their School Nutrition Program on a part-time basis. Located in Alice Springs, NT, this role will see you set shifts of Monday and Tuesday’s – 8am – 1pm with ad hoc additional shifts available to cover other staff. This role attracts an hourly rate of $29.53 - $31.81 / hour.
This rewarding role will also see you providing support in the prior preparation of meals and snacks, dishwashing and appropriate food storage and labelling and, when required, assisting in the delivery to the participating schools.
You will find yourself working in a positive and engaged team who have a team focused and ‘hands on’ approach to tasks to ensure that the deliverables of the program are met.
