Description

We are looking for an experienced chef to help build a team and dining concept that has the flexibility of offering a range of culinary choices from pub fare to finer dining. Adaptability in food preparation and seasonal demand fluctuations are essential skills.
Ability to assemble and train the appropriate team working with management to achieve seasonal objectives and provide leadership and guidance to the organization in attaining its goals
This is a full time position that requires creativity, flexibility and a desire to produce a higher quality menu item while still maintaining the financial objectives required of a full time operation restaurant. This is a hands on position in the management and operation of the kitchen.

Qualifications include

  • Basic food handlers certification
  • WHMIS certified
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years kitchen experience w/ 3 years management experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to interact professionally and diplomatically

Management includes: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
-responsible for the consistent preparation of high quality innovative cuisine.
- manage all aspects of the kitchen including stock, ordering, menu implementation, training of staff, waste control and scheduling
-enforce and monitor health and safety, sanitization, food handling regulations and procedures
-active involvement in menu development and effective cost analysis of all menu items offered.
-develop new menu choices and specials to enhance profitability and dining versatility
-review staffing levels to ensure operational and financial objectives are met.
-interview and hire new applicants as required
-oversee proper purchasing, receiving and storage ensuring proper standards are followed
-meet regularly with management heads to discuss promotions, difficulties, and successes -provide written cost estimates, reports and accounting as required
