Nook specializes in made-to-order paninis and salads. We pride ourselves on simple, high-quality ingredients and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

JOB OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking, and full-time Kitchen Staff/Helper to support daily back-of-house operations. You’ll assist with food prep, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and help ensure our food is consistently fresh, safe, and high quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous kitchen or food service experience is an asset but not required
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Hardworking and positive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
    Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Wash, chop, and portion vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
  • Prepare sandwich and salad components in advance
  • Assist with assembling sandwiches, salads, and other menu items
  • Label, date, and store prepped items correctly
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and small wares throughout the shift
  • Keep prep and service areas clean and organized
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures (HACCP standards)
  • Monitor low-stock items and communicate needs to the manager
  • Receive and organize deliveries; rotate stock
  • Help reduce food waste by storing and labeling ingredients properly
  • Assist with opening/closing duties as assigned
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with the team
  • Step in to support front-of-house during busy periods if needed
