KITCHEN HELPER Monday – Friday 4:00 am – 11:00 am (PT) Modern Maturity Center, Dover, DE ($15.45 per hour with paid vacation and sick time benefits) SUMMARY As a Kitchen Helper, you will assist with packing and distributing food to Homebound clients. Your dedication to teamwork and willingness to take on a variety of tasks will be essential to meeting the needs of our Meals on Wheels clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assists in the packaging and distribution of meals * Ladle and portions of food into serving trays * Maintains the cleanliness of the work area * Operates a heat seal machine * Stocks the supply room with supplies and food, and rotates inventory * Maintains an inventory of the supply room and rotates frozen meals * Label packing for distribution to homebound clients * Transfer complete food packages to appropriate areas for transport or storage * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent * Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment * Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices * Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team * Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects * ServSafe or Food Handling certification is requested but not required * Must have reliable transportation * MANDATORY: Must pass a criminal background check "Due to the high volume of applications, please do not contact the HR office to inquire about the status of your application; we will reach out directly to qualified candidates as the hiring process progresses."
